It’s no exaggeration to say that history of Persian literature can be read from inscriptions on cliffs, mosques, towers, mausoleum, mansions, and paintings. From Elamite Cuneiform to Sassanian Pahlavi scripts, from Early Islamic Kufic to present Nasta’liq calligraphy, you will comprehend hidden beauties of Persian Literature.
DAY01: Arrival in Ahwaz
Our trip begins from Ahwaz. After arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel and some rest, we leave to Shoushtar city (95 km) late in the morning and visit its historical astonishing hydraulic system. Then we return to the hotel in Ahwaz.
DAY02: Ahwaz (Izeh)
On our second day in Khuzestan province, we have planned to visit Izeh (180 km) to discover more mysteries from Elamites through the reliefs in Eshkaft Soleyman and Koolfarah.
DAY03: Ahwaz- Khorramabad
Today we leave Ahwaz in the morning to go to Khoramabad (330 km). On the way, we go to Choqa Zanbil world heritage site and Haft-Tappeh museum (120 km from Ahwaz), the outstanding mementoes from Elamites in Iran. After arrival in Khorramabaad, we visit Falak-ol-Aflak castle, a Sassanid monument which today’s city has its roots in it.
DAY04: Khoramabaad to Kermanshah
Heading to Kermanshah (310 km) we are leaving Khoramabad late in the morning. By then we will visit more highlighted monuments including Sang Nebeshteh (stone inscription) and Brick Tower. After arrival in Kermanshah, we go to visit Bisetoun complex (45 km) and its magnificent mythical relief.
DAY05: Kermanshah
Today we leave the hotel after breakfast to continue our visits, Taq-e Bostan area and reliefs, as well as Tekyeh Mo’avenol Molk, are on our list. In the evening we will have some time to visit the local shops and buy some local sweets.
DAY06: Kermanshah to Hamedan
Our trip continues to Hamedan. By leaving the hotel after breakfast and visiting Anahita Temple on the way, we arrive in Hamedan at noon (185 km) while having enough time to visit Babataher tomb and Ganjnameh inscriptions after lunch time.
DAY07: Hamedan
Today we are visiting Alavian dome from Seljuk period, tomb of Avicenna, regarded as one of the most significant thinkers, writers and scholars of the Islamic golden age . In the afternoon we will visit the tomb of Esther and Mordechai which is believed to be the most important pilgrimage site for Jews in Iran. As our today’s final visit, we go to the remnants of Ecbatana city, Hegmataneh, the ancient capital of Medians which is still under excavation.
DAY08: Hamedan to Isfahan
Today we get back on track to next city, Isfahan which is one of the most beautiful cities of Iran (510 km) with a short stop in Delijan to have lunch.
DAY08: Isfahan
We are going to spend an unforgettable day in Isfahan. As our first visit, we go to Naqsh-e Jahan square (The Image of the World it means) with four highlighted sites located around it: Imam Mosque, Sheikh Lotfullah Mosque, Ali Qapu and Traditional Bazaar. After enjoying our lunchtime near one of World’s largest squares, we will head to Hasht Behesht and Chehelsotun palace.
DAY10: Isfahan- Shiraz
Today we should leave the hotel to head to one of the most charming cities of Iran, Shiraz (480 km). On the way we visit Pasargadae, the remnants of first Persian Garden and tomb of the most popular King of ancient Iran, Cyrus the Great, then get to Shiraz early at night. Then we have time on our own to enjoy our first dinner in this wonderful city or have some rest in the hotel, getting ready for tomorrow's adventures.
DAY11: Shiraz
Our first day visits start with Karimkhan citadel right at the center of the city and continue to Vakil historical complex with its bath, bazaar and mosque. Enjoying our lunchtime at the heart of the city, we will go to Narenjestan-e Qavam garden. With its mystic atmosphere at night, Hafez tomb would become one of the everlasting scenes from Iran in our mind.
DAY12: Shiraz
Our second day in Shiraz is allocated to Persepolis (60 km from Shiraz). The glorious monument of ancient civilization of Persia with a total area of 125,000 square meters. Afterwards, we go to Naqsh-e Rostam relief which is close to Persepolis, we return to the hotel while entering the city through Quran Gate.
DAY13: Shiraz- Tehran
In order to visit the capital of Iran on our last days in Iran, we leave Shiraz in the morning to have our lunch in Tehran (1hr 15 min flight).Then head to the mountain foothills of Tochal in Darband, where is the beloved excursion place for Poeple of Tehran.Tochal with its highest peak, is at an altitude of 3,964 metres a mountain and ski resort located on the Alborz mountain range, adjacent to the metropolitan area of Tehran in northern Iran.
DAY14: Tehran
On our last day in Iran, we head to discover the history behind today’s capital of Iran. So we go to Golestan Palace Complex, it was the seat of government of the Qajari kings and is characterized by its style. The last kings of Iran, Reza and his son Mohammadreza Pahlavi, have been crowned here. Then visit National Museum of Iran. A beautiful collection of prehistoric Iran, whose building is designed by André Godard. After lunchtime, we go to National Jewelry Museum of Iran.This museum contains one of the most important jewel collections in the world. These are the former crown jewels of the Persian kings, such as the 182-carat Darya Nur (Sea of Light). At night we enjoy our farewell dinner in Iran in a traditional restaurant.
DAY15: Leaving Iran
And finally it’s time to bid farewell to Iran as we are transferred to the airport early in the morning for our return flight home.
