A week tour to visit what Lithuania can offer the best! You will explore the beautiful city of Vilnius and visit the Gediminas Castle and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. You will also make a trip to Trakai. This city has the only water castle in eastern Europe which is in the middle of the lake Galve. Further you will make a trip to Kaunas – the second biggest city in Lithuania and the interim capital of Lithuania between the two World Wars.

DAY01:
Arrival to Vilnius by flight. Pick up at the airport, transfer to the hotel in Vilnius. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Vilnius.

 

DAY02:
Breakfast. You will start the day with walking tour in Vilnius (Gediminas Castle, Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, the University, the Cathedral, the Churches of St Bernardino and St Anne "corner of blazing Gothic", the Churches of St. Michael and St. Jhon & St. Peter and St. Paul). Lunch.
Continue your trip to Trakai. This city has the only water castle in eastern Europe which is in the middle of the lake Galve. The castle of Trakai was one of ancient Lithuania’s center of administrations and defense which helped to develop a big city around it. You can find a museum inside the castle. At the moment the city of Trakai is the biggest historical complex in Lithuania. Come back to Vilnius. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Vilnius.


DAY03:
Breakfast at the hotel. A trip to Kaunas – the second biggest city in Lithuania and the interim capital of Lithuania between the two World Wars.
On the way to Kaunas, we will stop at Rumsiskes outdoor Ethnographic Museum, which displays a vast collection of buildings from different regions of Lithuania. The museum boasts a collection of old houses, farms, schools, pubs, and mills representing the major regions of the country. Arriving in Kaunas. Lunch.
Kaunas city awarded as UNESCO design Town. Historical and architectural pearl in Lithuania 1890-1960. Walking City tour, including the Old Town of Kaunas with St George's Church, Kaunas Castle – the oldest brickwork castle in Lithuania which was built in XIV century, the Town Hall Square surrounded by former 16th - 18th century merchants’ dwelling houses and baroque churches - the Jesuit Church and the Cathedral, the Church of Vytautas dating back to the 14th century. You will continue a walk in the central street - Freedom avenue - bustling with street vendors, musicians, full of cafes and souvenir shops. Continue trip to Pazaislis Camaldolese Monastery, which is located in stunning place – the peninsula of Kaunas Lagoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kaunas.


DAY04:
Breakfast. Anyksciai city tour with a visit to Horse Museum. During this day trip to Anyksciai, you will discover some of Lithuania's history, learn more about its traditions, it's beautiful architecture and admire its landscapes. This all-day trip is full of picturesque places and adventure: climb up to the tallest church, and take a walk through the path in the treetop, or just hear the legend about lighthouse of Happiness. Lunch.
In Horse Museum’s ethnographic homesteads educational programs “Daily bread” take place. There one can get acquainted with the important symbol of ethnic culture – the way of bread, from rye seeding to the slice of bread. Each is given a unique opportunity to form and bake your own piece of bread in the rural furnace, everyone is invited to taste dishes of the village. Transfer to Siauliai. Overnight and dinner in Siauliai.


DAY05:
Breakfast. Short morning panoramic Siauliai city tour and visiting of Hill of Crosses near Siauliai – a place to express gratitude to God for divine favors. Later, you will have a rare opportunity to visit Plateliai - a former Soviet nuclear missile base in Lithuania that has been opened to the public and turned into a Cold War Museum. Lunch.
By the late noon, you will reach Klaipeda – the largest port city in Lithuania. Evening tour of Klaipeda city: Old Town, Theatre Square and the statue of a girl “Ann from Tharau”, narrow streets with attractive courtyards, art galleries, cafes, and small boutiques, old warehouse reflecting the influence of Germanic architecture of the Hanseatic period. Dinner and overnight in Klaipeda.


DAY06:
Breakfast. Full day sightseeing in the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage site and National Park located between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. You can walk on the Hill of Witches in the fishing village of Juodkrante, enjoy an unforgettable view from a majestic 60- meter-high seaside dune and visit Thomas Mann’s summer house in Nida. Lunch in Nida. Come back to Klaipeda. Overnight and dinner in Klaipeda.

 

DAY07:
Breakfast. A trip to Druskininkai – Lithuania’s premier SPA and southernmost town. Picturesquely set on the river Nemunas and surrounded by pine forests with wonderfully fresh, scented air is a delightful place to spend a restful few days. A one day trip to the town features its main attractions: neo-gothic Church of the Virgin Mary of the Scapular and Grutas Park – a unique park in which pompous statues of Soviet revolutionaries and political leaders, once dominating squares of Lithuanian towns and villages, have found their shelter after being removed more than 10 years ago. Lunch. Overnight and dinner in Druskininkai.

 

DAY08:Breakfast. Departure to Vilnius airport.
