DAY01: Bogotá - Colombia.
Arrival in the city of Bogotá.Overnight at selected hotel.
In the morning, visit to the city. Assistance by the guide to start a panoramic tour through the historic area of Bogotá, passing through Colon Theatre, San Carlos Palace, where the Chancellery operates, the Presidential Palace of Nariño, Bolivar Square, the Capitol, the Town hall and the Primada Cathedral. Visit the gold museum and the Botero museum; later ascend by cable car to Monserrate, from where you can have an excellent view of the Colombian capital. Typical lunch at the restaurant “Santa Clara”, located on the hill of Monserrate.
In the afternoon, tour to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. Departure from the hotel to the Municipality of Zipa, located 49 km north of Bogotá. On your way, you can see some interesting sightings such as Bogotá’s Sabana and the Bridge of the Commoners. The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá was built 190 meters deep in a mine and is considered the first wonder of Colombia. Inside you can visit the Stations of the Cross, the Dome, and the Ramp, the Choir, the Balconies, the Narthex Complex and the large naves of the Cathedral. At the end, a panoramic tour to the town of Zipaquirá will be given. Return to Bogotá.
DAY03: Bogotá, Medellín
Start the day with a panoramic tour of the main interest sites of the city: El Poblado Park, where Medellin was founded, Milla de Oro and the Lleras Park, these places are known for their active nightlife. Stop at Pueblito Paisa, where you will have a better view of the city. Later, the tour will take you to the surroundings of the EPM Intelligent Building, Plaza Mayor, the Barefoot Park, La Alpujarra administration center, the Lights Park, Bolivar Park and the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Coltejer Building; emblem of the city. Stop at Botero Square, here you can find 23 monumental sculptures donated by the master to his hometown. Followed by a guided visit to the Museum of Antioquia, where the most representative work sample from the Colombian artist can be found. The tour finishes with a short visit to Atanasio Girardot Sports Complex and the Carrera 70 Boulevard.
The full day excursion tour starts from the city of Medellin; it passes through the Medellín Nocturn municipality of Peñol and finally reaches Guatapé. Here, you will visit Los Recuerdos Hotel, where the Majestic Yacht, the first Sweetwater yacht of the country sets sail at 01:45pm. Once on board, you can enjoy an approximate 2 hour ride through Guatape’s reservoir, while you take lunch viewing the beautiful panorama. You will also visit the Rock of Guatapé, which is approximately 220 meters high, and as an optional activity for an additional cost, you can climb the 649 stairs to reach the top of the viewpoint and delight your eyes with a 360 degree view of the reservoir’s landscape. Later, you will have a panoramic tour of the streets of the town of Guatapé, where a specialized guide will teach you about the history of the typical houses and the representative tiles of the facade’s lower walls.
DAY05: Medellín, Cartagena
Assistance in the hotel by the guide to start the panoramic tour through the residential quarters of Bocagrande, Castillo Grande and the republican neighborhood of Manga where you can see the big mansions of the old times. Continue with a visit to the Popa Convent, where you can have a wonderful view of the city. Visit San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, a Spanish military building where you’ll have a walking tour through its underground galleries and tunnels. Transfer to the Walled City to do a walk by the main squares, streets and churches, including the entrance to the Inquisition Palace. (Approximate duration: 4 hours).
Assistance at the hotel and private transfer to the pier to take a shared boat to the island. San Pedro de Majagua Island is located 45 minutes away by boat from Cartagena, inside the Corales del Rosario Park, a private island where the sun, the beach and the peaceful sea are the allies of your vacation.
