Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan + Hidden Corners Upon arrival in Yerevan, you'll be greeted at the airport and taken for a welcome lunch or snack at a local Armenian restaurant, depending on your arrival time. After checking in at Opera Suite or Red Bridge Hotel, take some time to rest before heading out to explore. Visit either the National History Museum or Matenadaran, home to ancient manuscripts and a rich literary heritage. Later in the afternoon, wander through Hrazdan Gorge, a hidden natural gem that winds along the river with tunnels and wild paths. As the sun sets, unwind at one of the cozy wine bars or cafés on Saryan Street, known as Armenia’s “Wine Street.” In the evening, you can take a leisurely walk through the illuminated city center or enjoy live jazz in one of Yerevan’s intimate music venues. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2: Yerevan → Gyumri – Armenia’s Art & Humor Capital After breakfast, you'll head to Gyumri by private car. Upon arrival, start your exploration at the Dzitoghtsyan Museum, a quirky look at Armenian social history and daily life. Wander the charming Kumayri Historic District, one of the most intact pre-Soviet neighborhoods in the region, known for its distinctive 19th-century architecture. For dinner, enjoy Gyumri-style Khashlama at a traditional local tavern. In the evening, explore local galleries or perhaps catch a comedy show, as Gyumri is renowned for its humor and artistic soul. Overnight at Jazz Hotel in Gyumri.

Day 3: Akhuryan Canyon Hike & Black Fortress Begin the day with a visit to Sev Berd, the Black Fortress – a moody 19th-century Russian military structure with panoramic views. Afterward, embark on a scenic hike through the Akhuryan River Canyon, with the option to go kayaking if the season allows. A side trip to Marmashen Monastery, a peaceful and often overlooked complex, is available by car. Conclude your day with dinner at Cherkezi Dzor, a riverside trout restaurant offering a tranquil atmosphere. Overnight again at Jazz Hotel in Gyumri.

Day 4: Journey into Lori Region Depart Gyumri in the morning and head into the lush landscapes of Lori. Your first stop is Stepanavan Dendropark, Armenia’s oldest botanical garden, where you can walk among rare trees and fresh mountain air. Continue your journey to Arevatsag Canyon, known for its limestone cliffs and emerald waters that resemble scenes from Southeast Asia. End the day exploring Mendz Er Cave, a natural and historical treasure few travelers know about. Overnight at the cozy Qefo Guesthouse.

Day 5: Debed Canyon – Monasteries & Local Life Today, visit the UNESCO-listed Haghpat Monastery, a masterpiece of Armenian medieval architecture with stunning views over Debed Canyon. You can choose to immerse yourself in local life with a cooking class or a folklore evening at Nurik Guesthouse, where traditional songs and homemade dishes bring the culture to life. Return to your guesthouse to relax and absorb the peaceful surroundings.

Day 6: Return to Yerevan via Lake Sevan Travel back to Yerevan, taking the scenic route through the Dilijan Tunnel to Lake Sevan. Stop at the historic Noratus Cemetery, home to the largest collection of Armenian khachkars (intricately carved cross-stones). Enjoy a lakeside picnic or dine at a restaurant offering fresh fish from the lake. Arrive in Yerevan by evening and check in at the Red Bridge Hotel. Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 7: Yerevan Culture Day + Souvenir Hunt Dedicate your final full day to soaking in the capital’s charm. Visit the Blue Mosque, one of the few remaining Islamic monuments in Armenia. Spend time shopping for artisan crafts, dried fruits, and natural cosmetics at Aregi. Later, relax in Lovers’ Park or take a light hike to Victory Park for sweeping views of the city. Overnight in Yerevan at the Red Bridge Hotel.
