Day 1: Arrival at Bologna airport or by train at the Central Station. Depending on arrival time, guided tour of this extraordinary city with tasting of local products. Transfer to hotel in Faenza or surrounding area, dinner in hotel or restaurant and overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast in hotel and visit to a farm where you will attend the cheese manufacturing process. Lunch with tasting of fresh and aged cheeses paired with local wines and products. In the afternoon, return to Faenza and time at leisure to visit this city worldwide famous for its ceramics. Dinner in hotel or restaurant and overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast in hotel and day dedicated to discover the magic that leads from the coffee bean to the Italian espresso. Italian coffee is not just a drink: it is a symbol of culture, passion and tradition. You will discover the processing phases: from the origins of the beans to the art of roasting, the culture of coffee and then the preparation of espresso. At the end demonstration and tasting of the various blends in combination with top quality chocolate, a combination that enhances the flavour of both, creating a unique sensory experience. Coffee-making course on how to use the espresso machine to recreate classic Italian espresso and cappuccino. Dinner in hotel or restaurant and overnight.
Day 4: Breakfast in hotel and visit to an oil mill. An expert will explain the oil production process, from harvesting the olives to pressing. You will conclude the visit with a tasting of different varieties of extra virgin olive oil, combined with typical products. We will appreciate the differences in flavour and aroma, discovering the peculiarities of each variety. Dinner in hotel or restaurant and overnight.
Day 5: Breakfast in hotel and guided visit to the Oriolo Tower, an ancient tower located in the hills surrounding Faenza, fortified in the 15th century. A walk in the vineyard among the vines, then arrival at the winery and guided visit to the cellar where the grapes harvested in the vineyards are transformed into wine. Wine tasting in combination with local food. Dinner in hotel or restaurant and overnight.
Day 6: Breakfast in hotel and visit to a mill to discover how modern technology integrates with centuries-old traditions, transforming cereals into high quality flours. Demonstration of how to make traditional Italian pasta. Visit to the “Scodellino” mill, located in Faenza surroundings: visiting the mill means immersing oneself in other eras, reliving glimpses of the life, history, technique and culture of times gone by. Tasting of home-made pasta made with stone-ground flour. At the end transfer to the airport or train station in Bologna.
