Day 1 – Orangutan Encounter & River Welcome
Begin your journey with a meaningful visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, arriving in time for the 10:00 AM feeding session. Watch rescued orangutans emerge from the forest canopy and gain insight into Sabah’s conservation efforts.
After the visit, travel overland to Sukau, where Borneo Nature Lodge awaits along the banks of the Kinabatangan River. Built using sustainable Emmedue panel technology and accented with locally sourced bamboo, the lodge offers a peaceful retreat inspired by its rainforest surroundings.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge, followed by time to settle in and a brief orientation.
In the late afternoon, set out at 4:00 PM for your first river cruise, gliding along the Kinabatangan as the rainforest begins to stir.
Return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night immersed in nature.
Day 2 – River Life & Leisure
Rise early for a morning river cruise towards the tranquil Ox-Bow Lake, a serene stretch of water known for birdlife and riverside activity.
Back at the lodge, enjoy breakfast and a leisurely morning to relax and soak in the natural atmosphere.
After lunch, the afternoon is yours — unwind on your veranda, enjoy the lodge’s common spaces, or simply listen to the rhythms of the rainforest.
As evening falls, gather for dinner at the lodge and enjoy another peaceful night by the river.
Day 3 – Deeper Into the Kinabatangan
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning surrounded by the sights and sounds of the rainforest.
Following lunch, head out at 4:00 PM for an afternoon river cruise along a different stretch of the Kinabatangan River, offering fresh perspectives of this remarkable ecosystem.
After dinner, experience the river after dark on a night cruise, where the rainforest reveals a quieter, more mysterious side.

Enjoy a gentle morning at the lodge before breakfast.
