This trip offers a fascinating mix of adventure, nature experiences and cultural insights into Venezuela, with direct contact to the different ethnic groups. The trip is guided by a specialized tour guide who will introduce you to all the special features of Venezuela.

Day 1: Bienvenidos a Venezuela!

When you arrive in Caracas, head to the terminal of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía. There, you'll be greeted and handed your tickets and vouchers for the round trip. A transfer to a hotel near the airport will be arranged for you.

Caracas, the political and cultural capital of Venezuela, holds significance for us due to its excellent airport connections. However, tomorrow, you'll be drawn away from the bustling metropolis to explore the country's natural wonders. While Caracas boasts some impressive museums and Venezuela's finest restaurants, the allure of nature beckons.

As evening falls, immerse yourself in the city's ambiance. Feel the atmospheric fog descending from the lush mountains, keeping the city comfortably cool year-round. Listen to the melodious symphony of chirping sapitos (small frogs) and crickets, creating a beautiful evening chorus that serenades the night.

Accommodation: Hotel Cayena Caracas *****

Day 2: By domestic flight and canoe to the Orinoco Delta

In the early morning you fly from Caracas to Maturin. Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport and drive past cattle and buffalo farms to the river village of San José de Buja. In San José, a motorized canoe will take you to the Eco Camp - a 30-minute ride along the river surrounded by dense tropical rainforest and Warao communities.

On arrival, you will take a short tour of the camp before heading to your Warao-style hut to relax before lunch. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip along some of the smaller channels of the delta, looking for wildlife such as macaws, toucans, capuchin and red howler monkeys, sloth bears and freshwater dolphins.

At sunset you can lie comfortably in the hammock until dinner is served and you can round off the day with a drink at the bar.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Orinoco Delta Lodge

Day 3: Visiting the Warao aborigines

In the morning after breakfast, you set off again to explore the delta by boat, traveling through primary forest and mangrove forest. Your guide will lead you on a walk through the jungle (rubber boots provided) and explain how the Warao Indians use many of the trees and plants growing there for food, medicine and tools.

You will either have a picnic by the river or back at camp. Later, you will have the opportunity to swim in the river (in Piraña-free waters). You will also visit a Warao community to get an insight into the life of the indigenous people and buy some locally made handicrafts such as jewelry and baskets.

Spend the evening at the camp and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the delta, interrupted only by the sounds of the jungle animals.

Day 4: Colonial buildings and river panorama in Ciudad Bolívar

Today you can spend the morning at leisure: explore the river in a small canoe or visit the Warao once again to buy souvenirs. Alternatively, you can simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the camp and laze around in a hammock before preparing for your departure to Ciudad Bolivar.

Once in Ciudad Bolivar, we head to the very well-preserved old town with its beautiful, colorful colonial buildings and then on to the hotel with a view of the gigantic Orinoco. This important river flows into the Atlantic to the east of the city, which is why Ciudad Bolívar has the most important river port in eastern Venezuela.
