9-Day Tour through the Southern Part of Sweden
During this tour through the southern part of Sweden you will be able to meet the characters of Astrid Lindgren’s famous tales, get to know the king of forest - the moose and enjoy beautiful lakes and sweet landscapes. Because who does not love the adventures of Pippi and Emil and with this trip you will be able to experience them yourself!
Day 1: Arrival in Copenhagen and drive to Malmö
After your arrival in Copenhagen you will pass the Öresund Bridge and arrive in Malmö where you will spend the next 2 nights on a farm.
Day 2: Time at leisure in Malmö
Use the day to explore Malmö and the surroundings where we recommend a visit to the Viking Museum or a beach day at Falsterbo.
Day 3: Drive from Malmö to Kalmar
After breakfast you will start your journey along the coast and torwards Kalmar. On the way you are passing Österlen, a scenic route with a lot of possibilities and nice stops. Once arrived in Kalmar you can visit the castle or just stroll through the narrow street.
Day 4: Time at leisure in Kalmar
We recommend a visit to the island of Öland which is connected by a bridge to the mainland. Öland off ers white sandy beaches, lovely landscapes and a family amusement park.
Day 5: Drive from Kalmar to Vimmerby
After leaving Kalmar you will visit a moose park where you can learn more about the king of the forest and meet him up close. In the afternoon you will arrive in Vimmerby, the birth place of Astrid Lindgren
Day 6: Family fun in Vimmerby
Today you are spending your day in Astrid Lindgren’s World in Vimmerby where you will be able to meet Pippi Longstocking and Emil from Lönneberga. Learn more about their adventures and say hello to them.
Day 7: Time at leisure in Vimmerby
Today you will have more time to explore Vimmerby and the villages close by. Make sure to stop at the Katthult farm the place where Emil lived or visit Bullerbü with it’s remarkable red houses.
Day 8: Drive from Vimmerby to Malmö
Today you are leaving Småland and head back to Malmö where you will spend one more night before traveling back home.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast you are crossing Öresund again and reach Copenhagen airport for your journey back home.
