Our Italy experts on site

Together with our DMC partner in Italy, Viaggi Erbacci Lufthansa City Center, we invited travel content creator Nawal Laktir from Switzerland on a 5-day journey through Bologna and the beautiful Emilia-Romagna region. From elegant cities and medieval villages to coastal nature trails and culinary treasures, this tailor-made itinerary blended history, art, food, and outdoor adventure. Our on site experts designed a programme that captured the allure of Italy in the best way possible.

5-Day Programme: Bologna & Romagna – Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Day 1: Welcome to Bologna

  • Morning arrival in Bologna

  • Private transfer with Tesla vehicle for the entire trip

  • Lunch at Donatello Restaurant, Bologna city center

  • Afternoon: Guided panoramic walking tour of Bologna under the UNESCO-listed Porticos

    • Visit and climb the Torre dell’Orologio for city views

  • Dinner at Cantina Bentivoglio, a rustic jazz club-restaurant

Day 2: Golf, Murals, and Motorsports

Day 3: Ceramics, Castles & Olive Oil

  • Departure to Faenza

  • Visit to the International Museum of Ceramics

    • Tour of a local ceramic workshop

  • Drive to Brisighella

  • Lunch at La Grotta

    • Guided village tour and olive oil tasting

    • Visit Ceparano Castle excavation and Oriolo Tower with wine tasting

  • Arrival & Check-in: Villa Abbondanzi Resort

  • Dinner & Overnight: Villa Abbondanzi Resort

Day 4: Ravenna & Coastal Cycling

  • Departure to Ravenna

    • Panoramic tour: UNESCO Mosaics & modern Street Art

  • Lunch at Ca’ de Ven

  • Afternoon:

    • Cycle (max. 6 km) through Maritime Park in Marina di Ravenna

      • Visit pier, fish market, lighthouse, and Sea Turtle Recovery Center

  • Return to Faenza

  • Dinner at Marianaza, typical restaurant in Faenza center

  • Overnight: Villa Abbondanzi Resort

 

Day 5: San Marino & Rimini

  • Departure to San Marino

  • Guided tour of the UNESCO-listed medieval town

  • Lunch at La Terrazza with panoramic hill views

  • Drive to Rimini

    • Guided visit of Rimini: Roman & Renaissance heritage and beach culture

  • Transfer to Rimini or Bologna Airport for departure

A special highlight: Nawal received a warm welcome in Faenza from the city’s Mayor, Massimo Isola—a moment that was even captured by the local press and a regional television channel. What an honor!
