Day 01   Arrive at Delhi

Arrive in Delhi. On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Rooms will be available from 1400 Hrs.

Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many times, the city was built, destroyed, and then rebuilt here. Interestingly, several of Delhi’s rulers played a dual role, first as destroyers and then as creators.

Day 02   Delhi

The first half of the day is reserved for an immersive exploration of an authentic art and craft fair -Surajkund International Crafts Fair, generally held between 1st-15th February, offering a refined glimpse into India’s rich artistic traditions.

Alternatively, outside the fair dates, a curated visit to Dilli Haat will be arranged, providing an equally engaging encounter with regional handicrafts and artisan-led creations from across the country.

In the late afternoon, enjoy a short orientation tour of Delhi and visit the following:

Make a photo stop at India Gate, a 42-metre-high war memorial commemorating the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in World War I. Continue with a drive past the Govt. Buildings of New Delhi. End this beautiful day with a visit to Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 03    Delhi – Agra (203 Kms – 04 Hrs drive)

After breakfast, begin your tour with a visit Old Delhi. You will make a photo stop at the iconic Red Fort (From Outside). Visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India.

Later, enjoy a rickshaw ride through the vibrant lanes of Old Delhi, navigating the bustling markets around Chandni Chowk. Pass through the famous Kinari Bazaar, known for its intricate wedding decorations and traditional embroidery.

After sightseeing drive to Agra. On arrival transfer to hotel.

Agra - home to the iconic Taj Mahal.

Day 04   Agra

After breakfast, visit Taj Mahal, a white marble mausoleum, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. (It remains closed on Fridays). Continue with Agra Fort, considered one of the largest fortifications in the world and a UNESCO world heritage site.

In the afternoon, experience an introduction to the traditional art of marble inlay (Parchin Kari). Visit a local workshop to observe skilled artisans practicing this centuries-old craft, delicately setting semi-precious stones into marble.

Day 05   Agra / Jaipur (Approx 235 Kms / 05 ½ hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur with an engaging countryside interlude. Experience a traditional Jugaad ride - fondly known as the “Village Mercedes”- as it carries you along farm tracks and open fields, revealing the rhythm of rural life up close. Lunch is arranged along the way.

Continue your journey to Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, renowned for its planned layout and royal heritage. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Day 06   Jaipur

After breakfast, visit Amber Fort, with a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal enroute. Set amidst rugged hills, Amber Fort is a striking blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture.

In the afternoon, proceed for an immersive excursion into a traditional artisan settlement, where the region’s celebrated block-printing craft comes to life. Visit family-run workshops and observe skilled artisans at work, using intricately hand-carved wooden blocks and natural dyes. Experience the process from fabric preparation to printing, complemented by a guided walk through the village, offering meaningful interactions within artisan homes and a deeper insight into their way of life.

Also, enjoy a Pottery experience, observing artisans create Jaipur’s iconic ceramic pieces known for their vibrant colours and intricate designs.

In the late afternoon, attend the serene evening Aarti ceremony at Birla Temple.

Day 07 Jaipur

After breakfast, visit the City Palace, followed by Jantar Mantar, an 18th-century astronomical observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh II.

Later, continue for an enriching artisanal experience a short distance outside the city, delving into the refined traditions of hand block printing and the intricate art of Bandhej (tie-dye). Witness skilled craftsmen at work, mastering age-old techniques with precision and creativity, and visit a handmade paper unit to observe the delicate process behind this sustainable craft.

Return to Jaipur and enjoy a Pink Rickshaw ride through the old city, a unique women-led initiative offering an immersive glimpse into local life and vibrant streets.

Day 08   Jaipur / Ahmedabad (Flight at 08:30 hrs)

After breakfast transfer to the airport and connect flight to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel.

The afternoon is reserved for a curated exploration of the city’s architectural and cultural landmarks, including the intricately carved Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, followed by the serene Sabarmati Ashram, once the residence of Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom movement. Continue to the exquisitely crafted Hutheesing Jain Temple, renowned for its intricate marble architecture.

Day 09   Ahmedabad - Pethapur - Ahmedabad

After breakfast, begin with a visit to Adalaj Stepwell, a beautifully carved 15th-century stepwell built by Queen Rudabai, known for its intricate architecture.

Continue to engage with master craftsmen specializing in the delicate art of hand-carved wooden block making - an essential element of traditional textile printing- followed by an experience of Kalamkari, an ancient hand-painting technique using natural dyes, where artisans create intricate motifs with remarkable precision.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional dining experience at Vishala set within a village-style ambiance, complemented by a visit to a unique museum showcasing an exceptional collection of heritage utensils, offering a glimpse into India’s culinary traditions.

Day 10   Ahmedabad - Poshina (190 Kms -04 Hrs drive)

After an early breakfast, proceed for the Heritage Walk of Ahmedabad, a guided walk through the historic old city, exploring its narrow pols, traditional havelis, temples, and vibrant local life.

Later, visit the Calico Museum of Textiles, showcasing an exceptional collection of Indian textiles, including historic fabrics, embroidery, and traditional weaving and dyeing techniques. (The museum remains closed on Wednesdays and public holidays).

Post lunch, drive to Poshina. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Day 11   Poshina – Siddhpur – Patan – Modhera – Bajana (240 Kms / 5 hrs Approx)

After breakfast, the day unfolds with an immersive journey through Gujarat’s artisanal landscapes. Begin with visits to traditional tribal villages, an insight into their vibrant way of life, including encounters with skilled potters practicing age-old techniques.

Continue to Siddhpur to stroll through its charming streets lined with distinctive Bohra havelis, reflecting a unique architectural heritage. Proceed onward to Patan, where you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rani ki Vav, celebrated for its intricate carvings and grandeur. The experience is further enriched with an introduction to the exquisite art of Patola weaving, a rare and highly skilled textile tradition.

Later, visit the remarkable Modhera Sun Temple, an architectural masterpiece dedicated to the Sun God. Thereafter, proceed to Little Rann of Kutch.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 12   Bajana

Early morning, enjoy a wildlife safari in the Little Rann of Kutch, renowned for the rare Indian Wild Ass, along with sightings of antelopes, desert wildlife, and migratory birds.

In the evening, embark on a village safari exploring local villages and communities. Experience traditional lifestyles and visit artisan groups known for their weaving and intricate embroidery.

Day 13   Bajana – Bhuj

After breakfast, proceed on a scenic drive towards Bhuj, with enriching enroute experiences highlighting the region’s celebrated textile traditions. Visit artisan settlements known for the intricate art of Ajrakh block printing, followed by interactions with local communities renowned for their exquisite hand embroidery. Continue to a traditional weaving village, where skilled craftsmen create finely woven shawls and textiles on handlooms, preserving generations-old techniques.

Upon arrival in Bhuj, explore the city’s cultural landmarks, including the elegant Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal, along with the Kutch Museum and the beautifully crafted Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj.

Day 14   Bhuj

After breakfast, explore the Banni villages, home to diverse artisan communities such as Jat, Meghwal, and Mutwa.

Visit traditional villages across the region, offering an immersive insight into vibrant local craftsmanship. Experience a rich variety of art forms including intricate hand embroidery, mud art, wood carving, and delicate beadwork. Witness distinctive techniques such as mirror work, Kharek embroidery, and Mutwa designs, along with beautifully adorned mud houses (Bhungas), reflecting the unique cultural identity of the community.

Day 15    Bhuj / Mumbai (Flight at 08:45 hrs)

After breakfast transfer to the airport and connect flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel.

Later, proceed for a half-day Bollywood studio experience, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into India’s vibrant film industry. Visit a working studio, observe filming activities and gain insights into the movie-making process.

Return to the hotel and the evening is at leisure.

Day 16   Mumbai

After breakfast, set out on a guided walking tour that delves into Mumbai’s colonial heritage, offering an immersive journey through the city’s storied past.

Begin with a visit to the iconic Gateway of India, a grand waterfront monument overlooking the Arabian Sea, followed by a visit to the renowned Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, home to an exceptional collection of art, artifacts, and heritage exhibits. Continue with a scenic drive past Marine Drive.

Later in the afternoon, explore the vibrant Kala Ghoda Arts District, a historic precinct celebrated for its colonial-era architecture, galleries, museums, and dynamic public art installations. Accompanied by your guide, stroll through its charming streets.

The evening is at leisure to relax or explore at your own pace.

Day 17   Mumbai / Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight back home / onward destination. (Rooms will be available till 12:00 hrs.)
