The itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrival in Bagdogra (93 KMS 3.5 HOURS APPROX): Assistance on arrival at Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway station and drive to Darjeeling. DARJEELING Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow-capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘ An introduction to hill stations in India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 2 - Exploring Darjeeling: Early morning visit Tiger Hill for sunrise and back. TIGER HILL: It is 13 km from Darjeeling and one can see beautiful sunrise and the Himalayan Range like Kanchendzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colours just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. It is truly a majestic sight. Breakfast at the hotel and go Enjoy a toy train ride upto Ghoom then visit Ghoom Monastery (Subject to the operation of this train & availability of the seats). TOY TRAIN: The spectacular landscape unfolds as the 2-foot gauge Darjeeling Himalayan railway, opened in 1881, labours at about 10 mph crisscrossing the road. It has tiny 4-wheel locomotives (some over 100 years old) like living legends. One can experience the sound, smell and romance of a bygone era. DHR is a work of genius and technological achievement of 1881. It has social and cultural importance. It is beautiful and has outstanding universal appeal. Based on its unique features, it is considered to be of lasting significance to mankind. GHOOM MONASTRY: This is the oldest Monastery in the area it was built in 1875 and one can see the image of Mythey Buddha 15ft. height Afternoon proceed for a city tour. HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINEERING INSTITUTE/PADMAJA NAIDU HIMALAYAN ZOOLOGICAL PARK (Thursday Closed): The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was started in Darjeeling when Tenzing Norgay climbed Everest to give the training to learn Mountaineering and other adventure sports related to mountaineering and in that Institute one can see equipment etc. used by Mr Tenzing Norgay and Everest Museum having complete details on Everest attached to institute one can visit Himalayan Zoological Park where one can see Himalayan animals like Snow Leopard, Tibetan Wolf, Tibetan Yak, Himalayan Black Bear and several varieties of birds. Tibetan Self-Help Centre Or REFUGEE CENTRE (Sunday Closed): This institute is run by Tibetan Refugees to preserve their handicrafts and one can see the making of Tibetan Carpets, Leather work, Paintings Wooden work etc. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 3 - Darjeeling to Chalsa (Dooars):
After breakfast transfer to Chalsa. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 4 - Exploring Chalsa: Morning visit Jeep Safari Jeep Safari at Gorumara National Park: Experience nature at Gorumara National Park, full of rare and endangered endemic wildlife animals with the major attraction being the Indian rhinoceros. Asian elephants, barking deer, sloth bears, wild boars, hog deer, leopards, and Indian wolves are also spotted occasionally. etc. Wildlife enthusiasts can retreat to them with this wonderful experience. The park is styled in such a way that it feels like journeying across the home of magnificent creatures within just 90 mins. This park harbours over 13 endangered species and makes it a true retreat for wildlife lovers. Afternoon visit Samsing, Suntaley Khola, and Rocky island. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 5 - Chalsa to Bagdogra Airport: After breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport for onward destination. Arrive at Jorhat Airport – transfer to hotel. Arrive Jorhat. Jorhat is known as the tea treasure house. Jorhat refers to Jor’ means join and ‘hat’ means market. The town is also very well known to have the oldest golf course in Jorhat is the oldest in Asia and the third oldest in the world. Watching tea growing in such a vast expanse is a treat to the eyes. And as you walk through the gardens you will witness workers plucking tea leaves, cleaning the gardens, and nurturing plants. Time permitting we shall take a walk in the surrounding tea garden. Overnight stay.
DAY 6 - Jorhat: Sightseeing Early morning, we shall take a short tour in the garden and know about its history. Later we shall visit the tea factory (subjected to operation, may remain close on Sundays or any State/Central Govt. Holidays), tea tasting session (subjected to availability of experts).
DAY 7 - Jorhat hotel: Airport After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Jorhat airport to board flight for your onward journey.
