Day 1: Welcome to Namibia!
Your exciting family adventure begins as you make your way towards the beautiful Kalahari. Settle into your lodge, unwind after your journey and take your first glimpse of Namibia’s incredible landscapes. This is the perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and get the whole family excited for the adventures ahead.
Day 2–3:
Today, your family journey continues to the spectacular Sossusvlei. Over the next few days, experience the desert together and create memories that the whole family will treasure. For those up for a challenge, climb the impressive Big Daddy dune together and celebrate reaching the top with breathtaking views across the endless sea of sand. Wander across the striking white clay pan at Deadvlei, surrounded by ancient camelthorn trees, and capture some wonderful family photographs against this extraordinary landscape.
Day 4–5:
Today, you continue towards Namibia’s Atlantic coast and the charming seaside town of Swakopmund. With its colourful history, German-inspired architecture and laid-back atmosphere, Swakopmund is a wonderful place for families to relax and enjoy some time by the ocean. Consider exploring the fascinating desert landscape together on a guided excursion in search of Namibia’s tiny desert-adapted creatures. Then head to Walvis Bay for a memorable boat trip on the lagoon, where you may spot playful dolphins, curious seals, pelicans and beautiful pink flamingos. For more adventure, try kayaking around Pelican Point and its seal colony.
Day 6–7:
Today, your family travels into the rugged landscapes of Damaraland, where fascinating geological formations, ancient history and local culture come together. This part of the journey is an opportunity for the whole family to discover more about Namibia’s fascinating past. Children will enjoy seeing the unusual Organ Pipes and exploring the ancient, petrified forest, with plenty of opportunities to stop, explore and take photographs together. A family visit to the San Living Museum offers an engaging insight into traditional San culture and village life.
Day 8–10:
Get your cameras and binoculars ready – it’s time for one of the most exciting parts of your family adventure! Arrive in the Etosha region and settle into your bush accommodation surrounded by Namibia’s beautiful wilderness and join an optional guided safari with experienced game rangers and begin exploring the southern part of Etosha National Park. Keep your eyes open as you travel through the park in search of Namibia’s incredible wildlife. For children especially, there is something magical about spotting animals in their natural surroundings – and every game drive brings the possibility of a new discovery.
Day 11–12:
Your journey continues to Waterberg Plateau National Park, where the dramatic red cliffs and sweeping landscapes give you a wonderful sense of Namibia’s vastness. Spend time exploring the area together on a family hike, taking in the spectacular views. Horse trail rides can also be enjoyed here by all ages and experience levels.
