Walking safari through the Okavango Delta

DAY 1

Welcome to Botswana! After your arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. On arrival, enjoy some time to relax with all amenities on site. Look forward to exciting wildlife and nature adventures in the wilderness of Botswana in the coming days.

DAY 2 to 5

Transfer to Maun Airport and check-in for your bush adventure. Charter flight to your first safari destination in the remote area of the Okavango Delta. Settle and enjoy the afternoon at the camp before going on your first wildlife & nature activity. Take a bush walk or a mokoro to explore.

After spending at least one night at Delta Camp, you will set off into the Okavango with your guide for a minimum of two nights in a dug-out canoe. As you thread your way through floodplains fringed with islands, ancient trees will mark your passage, as will tiny reed-frogs, imperious fish eagles, and a host of other living creatures, large and small. As the day passes your guide will make his way to the fly campsite selected for you. Staff will have erected the tents, collected firewood and the cook will be preparing the meals. As the afternoon mellows your guide will take you for a walk over the island, viewing birds, game, and the spectacular scenery for which the Okavango is renowned.

On your return, in the evening the fire will be set, and the chef will cook your evening meal over the open coals, under a sky spangled with stars and bush sounds setting the scene. An early rise the following morning takes you on an exploratory walk, followed by a late breakfast and a siesta. On the final day of your trail, you will return to Delta Camp.

DAY 6

Charter flight back to Maun.

4 nights Chief’s Island Walking Trails - starting at Delta Camp all meals, teas/coffees and snacks, drinks (soft drinks, water, beers, select wines and selected spirits), laundry. The Chief's Island Walking Trail is water dependent and not available in the Green Season from 01 December to 31 March.
Return Delta Air flights from Maun Airport to Delta Camp. Note luggage restrictions apply.
