We will visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum or as it is currently known, the Larco Museum, one of the most important in the country and considered among the best in the world by some specialists. Founded in 1926, the museum exhibits a valuable collection of almost 45,000 pre-Hispanic pieces arranged in chronological order from the first inhabitants of ancient Peru to the Incas. Its rooms are characterized by presenting a complete collection of ceramics, textiles, gold and silver in a perfectly conserved, in addition to being one of the first in the world to have visitable storerooms and to provide virtual access to its entire collection Among the main exhibits, we will observe its renowned exhibition of ceramic pieces from the Moche culture, such as the ceramics alluding to fertility, popularly known as the |Erotic Room|.

Day 4 - 2024: Arequipa

We will explore the heart of Arequipa and enjoy the city|s best views. The Yanahuara and Carmen Alto viewpoints are unmissable stops on our route, from where we can appreciate the fantastic landscape of the countryside and the city at the foot of the imposing Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. We will visit the historic center and the beautiful Main Square, where the city was founded in 1540. The buildings in Arequipa are built in ashlar, the white volcanic stone that gives it its name of White City, among which stand out its portals and the imposing Cathedral recognized for its neo-Renaissance style with Gothic influences. We will visit other churches, such as the Company of Jesus, and walk through the streets reflecting the colonial history into the present day, such as San Francisco and Santo Domingo. We will visit one of the most iconic places in the city: the fabulous Monastery of Santa Catalina. We will enter the cloisters, walk through its narrow corridors of intense colors, and admire its internal plazas, considered colonial architectural treasures. Our adventure will begin aboard the train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, a picturesque town at the foot of the emblematic Inca citadel. During the train ride we can enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings, with impressive views of majestic mountains, the Vilcanota river and small towns of the Peruvian Andes; a visual feast that fills us with anticipation for the visit to the wonder that is Machu Picchu. After a short bus ride from Aguas Calientes we will find ourselves in front of one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – an unforgettable sight! From there, we will explore the ancient ruins, learning all about the history and mysteries that this mystical and impressive place holds. Surrounded by incomparable landscapes, there will be no shortage of spectacular photo opportunities! Once we have recharged ourselves with the magical energy of Machu Picchu, we will return to Aguas Calientes where we will have free time to have lunch and explore the streets a bit before boarding our return train.

Day 10 - 2024: Cusco

We will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique activity, by taking a photography tour of Cusco. To do this, we will head off the beaten path, away from the traditional Cusco tourist circuit to see another side of the city. We will walk through streets and squares in search of everyday scenes, but which under the lens provide a new way of understanding the Imperial City and those who live in it. We|ll meet the the local photographer at the Main Square from where we will leave for the Espinar, San Francisco and San Pedro squares. The key to capturing the best photographs will be to pay attention to the stimuli of the city, its colors, its textures and, of course, its people. In addition to opening our eyes to the beauty of everyday life, this experience will allow us to learn about local customs up close. We will also visit Koricancha, which during the Inca empire was a center of worship of the Sun and on which the Santo Domingo convent was later built. Here we can photograph the colonial splendor of its façade and the activities that take place around it. We will also visit the Wanchaq market, one of the busiest in the entire city. With our cameras we will be able to capture the variety of colors of the region|s products, a feast for our senses.

This walking tour offers us the opportunity to experience a unique evening, where we will discover some of the best restaurants and bars in the city center. As if that were not enough, our guide will be a professional bartender, who will share with us all his knowledge about Peru|s flagship distillate, pisco. We will end the night being experts in Pisco! On a walk through some of the most traditional streets of the Historic Center, we will stop at places known for their fine cocktails. At our first stop we will learn to taste and appreciate pisco. That will be the warm-up to fully enjoy the pisco-based cocktails that await throughout the night. There will be three stops where we will prepare and enjoy delicious and varied cocktails, such as the popular Coca Sour and others that integrate exotic fruits in their preparation. By the time we arrive at the last destination of the night we will have already perfected our cocktail shaking technique. There, in a bar right on the Main Square, we will share a delicious snack while we enjoy the wonderful view of the illuminated square.

Day 11 - 2024: Cusco, OUT
