A land of myth, legend, history, and one of the richest cultures, Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful islands of the world. The beauty of the destination is that one can enjoy culture, wildlife, nature and adventure all in one single trip.  Our program includes some of the most sought-after places in Sri Lanka along with some unique handpicked experiences. After the round trip we have included few nights at a beach to relax and enjoy free time.

 

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Colombo and drive to Negombo

Arrive Colombo and drive to Negombo. On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and transferred to the hotel in Negombo. (Room will be available from 1400 Hrs onwards).

Day 02: Negombo / Dambulla / Sigiriya          

After breakfast visit Negombo’s fish market - Experience the vibrant energy of Negombo's famous fish market, where fresh catches of the day are showcased in colorful displays along the scenic coastline.

After visit drive to Sigiriya. On the way visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a treasure trove of artistic heritage and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue driving to Sigiriya.

Located in the Matale District in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, Sigiriya is famous for its palace ruins on top of a massive 200-meter-high rock. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Day 03: Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Minneriya / Sigiriya 

After breakfast visit the Ancient city of Polonnaruwa - There is the largest manmade reservoirs, the huge Parakrama Samudra. See also the ruins of the King's Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Kumara Pokuna, Royal Pavilion, the Vatadage Relic House, Kiri Vehera.

Afternoon enjoy a Jeep safari in Minneriya National Park – It is home to the world’s largest known gathering of Asian elephants.

Day 04: Sigiriya / Hiriwadunna / Sigiriya 

After breakfast climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Later enjoy an excursion to Hiriwadunna Village with a walk through the rustic rural community of Sigiriya and Habarana accompanied by an expert guide.

For those with a knack for adventure, they can try climbing the makeshift “tree house” from where the villagers keep a watch and drive away the wild animals during the night.

Later enjoy a cooking demonstration followed by a simple lunch.

Later return back to Sigiriya.

Day 05: Sigiriya / Matale / Kandy

After breakfast drive to Kandy, on the way visit the Spice Gardens in Matale as they offer a fragrant journey through the world of spices.

Continue drive to Kandy. The last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, Kandy is a repository of traditional culture and the Island’s most frequented tourist resort. Set amidst tea and spice gardens, lakes, mountains, and a river, Kandy’s varied charm offers memorable sights and scenes.

Upon arrival, visit Tooth Temple in Kandy, Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth), which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, is considered one of the holiest shrines in Sri Lanka. Historical procession called “Esala Perahera” is held here annually during the month of July to pay homage to the holy relic.

Day 06: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya (Train ride – Kandy to Nanu Oya)

After breakfast embark on a scenic train journey through the lush tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, and quaint villages, from Kandy to Nanu Oya. Later continue drive to Nuwara Eliya

The coolest city of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya, which literally means, ‘City of Light’. Overlooked by Pidurutalagala (the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka) the city boasts of its natural beauty and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka.

Afternoon drive past the Racecourse, the Golf Course, Victoria Park and Lake Gregory. Enjoy an interesting walk through the local market.

Day 07: Nuwara Eliya (Horton plains national park trekking)

After an early breakfast, embark on an exhilarating excursion to Horton Plains for a captivating trekking experience. Delve into the adventure of a 9 km looped track through the picturesque Horton Plains National Park, leading you to the awe-inspiring viewpoints known as World’s End.

Upon completing the trek, return to the hotel to relax.

Later in the day, visit New Zealand Farm in Ambewela – Located a few kilometers away from Nuwara Eliya, the New Zealand Farm is part of the larger Ambewela Farm complex, both dedicated to dairy farming.

Day 08: Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Yala           

After breakfast drive to Yala, on the way explore Ella. It draws attention to sites associated with legendary tale of the Ramayana, including the Ravana Ella, and Ravana cave. One of the highlights of visiting Ella is the Ella Gap that affords one of the most breath-taking views of the terrain after a hike up Ella Rock.

Continue driving to Yala. Spread over an area of 979 square kilometers in the southeast corner of Sri Lanka, Yala National Park is the oldest and most popular national park in the country.

On arrival in Yala (Tissamaharama), transfer to hotel.

Late afternoon enjoy safari at Yala National Park, famous for its leopards.

Day 09: Yala / Galle / Beruwala                                  

After breakfast drive to Beruwala enroute visit Galle Dutch Fort. The entire fort has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

Day 12: Beruwala / Colombo   

After breakfast drive to Colombo. 

The commercial capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo is the conventional gateway to the East. A popular stopover on the western route to Australia and the Far East, its original Moorish monuments, canals, clock towers, religions, customs, and languages that have been absorbed into the local dialect, are a testimony to the influence of the passing travelers.

On arrival enjoy city tour of Colombo - Embark on a cultural odyssey through Colombo's bustling streets, starting with the historic Fort district, where colonial charm meets modernity. Explore Tamil Hindu temples (Kovils) then delve into the serene ambiance of the iconic Gangaramaya Temple.

Enjoy a Tuk Tuk ride and immerse yourself in the vibrant Pettah street market that is always alive with the colors and aromas of local life.

Day 13: Colombo departure

In time transfer to the Colombo airport to board flight for onward journey (Rooms will be available till 11:00 hrs).
