Day 1: Arrival in Trondheim

Arrival in Trondheim according to individual travel plans. The day is free to explore the city’s charming old town with its colourful wooden buildings or take a guided tour to learn more about its rich Viking history. A visit to Nidaros Cathedral, Norway’s national sanctuary and the world’s northernmost medieval cathedral, is highly recommended. Accommodation in a centrally located 3-star hotel in Trondheim.

Day 2: Trondheim – Inderøy

After breakfast, board the train heading north along the scenic Trondheim Fjord. After approximately two hours, arrive at Røra station where a transfer will bring guests to Øyna Parken, a unique hotel built into the natural landscape. This member of The Golden Road collective is known for combining architecture with first-class local food and culture. Accommodation at Øyna Parken (or similar).

Day 3: Inderøy – Grong – Namsentunet

Breakfast at the hotel. Continue the train journey along Lake Snåsavatnet to the town of Grong. From here, a short transfer leads to Namsentunet, a charming riverside lodge near the Namsen River, famous for salmon fishing. Optional guided hikes or fishing trips can be arranged on site. Accommodation at Namsentunet.

Day 4: Grong – Mosjøen

Breakfast is served at the lodge. The journey continues north by train to Mosjøen, a charming town nestled along the Vefsnfjorden and known for its colourful wooden houses. Adventurous travellers may wish to try Norway’s longest zipline, which crosses the fjord. Accommodation in a centrally located 3-star hotel in Mosjøen.

Day 5: Mosjøen – Yttervik

After breakfast, a short train ride brings guests near Mo i Rana, where a night is spent in a peaceful cabin at Yttervik, overlooking the Ranfjorden. The surrounding area offers endless nature for hiking, lake swimming, or a visit to the unique Marmor Slottet (Marble Castle), a natural rock formation shaped by water. Accommodation in a private cabin at Yttervik (no breakfast provided, kitchenette available).

Day 6: Yttervik – Bodø

Today’s train ride continues north through the Saltfjellet–Svartisen National Park, with views of snow-covered peaks. A highlight of the journey is crossing the Arctic Circle at 66°33′N. After approximately 2.5 hours, arrival in Bodø, the capital of Nordland. Optional excursions to Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current, can be arranged by RIB boat. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Bodø city centre.

Day 7: Departure from Bodø

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Bodø Airport and departure according to individual travel plans.
