We proceed toward the heart of Old Delhi, where the pages of history come to life. The Red Fort, a majestic sentinel, watches as you wander through labyrinthine alleys. A visit to the Jama Masjid, a red sandstone marvel, stands silent witness to centuries. Hop onto a rickshaw and weave through the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk. For Lunch, we recommend ‘Tamra, Hotel Shangrila’; an urban all-day dining spot in the heart of the city! With so much to indulge in, a scrumptious lunch at this award-winning restaurant is a delight to one’s taste buds. Day 10: Exploring Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, we delve into New Delhi's grandeur and heritage. Sansad Bhawan & Rashtrapati Bhawan narrate the colonial saga. A pause at India Gate offers a snapshot of solemn pride. Our next stop, the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is the largest Sikh holy shrine in the capital city, where a glistening golden dome crowns a place of spiritual solace. Meal sharing is a vital component of Sikhism and the temple’s kitchen churns out thousands of meals a day for the community. Here, you'll learn about Sikhism, and find that in India, every heart is a home! Later we head to the Humayun’s Tomb; a precursor to the Taj Mahal, enchanted with its intricate latticework and the grandeur of its soaring dome. As you explore these two tranquil oases, you're transported to an era of regal opulence and artistic mastery, each verse a testament to time. For Lunch, we recommend ‘Bukhara, Hotel ITC Maurya’; The romance of the rugged North West Frontier of India comes alive at this authentic, award winning restaurant, making it a landmark dining destination in Delhi. After lunch at the hotel, we head to visit The Qutub Minar (XII), an excellent example of Afghan Architecture. It’s a World Heritage Site! The evening is free at leisure to enjoy the evening views of New Delhi greens at the Oberoi, Delhi.Evenings in old Delhi are magical, and yours unfolds at the ‘Dharampura Haveli’; a 200-year-old UNESCO site, where Old Delhi's flavors are masterfully curated for a Seven-course chef’s tasting supper, each course a crescendo of taste of the Mughal era. The cherry on the cake is the lit-up view of the Jama Masjid in the background!
