Iceland’s geothermally warmed waters make it the ideal wellness destination! It is also one of the most advanced countries in the world for women’s rights. Icelandic society is safe, and there is a daily life focus on living a healthy lifestyle. According to the World Economic Forum, Iceland has the world’s smallest gender gap. There is almost total gender equality in salaries, and the country supports paid maternity (and paternity) leave for employees. Women occupy several top positions in society. Currently, Iceland’s Prime Minister, President, and the Bishop of the National Church (Evangelical Lutheran) are all women. Our Iceland Nature and Wellness package is perfect for solo travel, a girlfriends’ getaway, mother-daughter holidays and women’s travel clubs.

Experience relaxation and inspiration in Iceland, a country with true respect for the rights of women. Enjoy the unique combination of hot spring bathing and glacier exploration.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Geothermal spa and Iceland’s cool capital

Arrival at Keflavík Airport. The transfer coach for the transfer to the Blue Lagoon will be waiting outside the Arrivals Hall. Please show your Iceland Travel documents to the attendant on board the bus. Please note that this is an unguided transfer, and you will not be met at the airport.

The Blue Lagoon is a twenty-minute drive from the airport. Enjoy the views of surreal lava terrain and the unique pollution-free Svartsengi power station as you head to the lagoon.

Relax at the Blue Lagoon with the Comfort Experience, which includes towel rental, a Silica mud mask, and a choice of one drink from the Blue Lagoon’s bar. The warm geothermal mineral water will soothe your skin and set you in the perfect Iceland frame of mind!

Now that you are soothed and relaxed, it’s time to head to Reykjavík on one of the scheduled transfer buses departing the Blue Lagoon. Please show your Iceland Travel documents to the attendant on board and let him or her know the hotel where you will be staying.

The rest of the day is open for your own activities. Reykjavík has a wonderful variety of restaurants that suit many travel budgets. Many of the ingredients are fresh from the sea or farms, often with an organic focus. This is excellent cuisine for your wellness focused holiday!

Overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 2: Golden Circle and the Sky Lagoon

Enjoy a healthy Icelandic breakfast buffet at your hotel. Combine natural wonders and hot spring relaxation in the Golden Circle region of South Iceland.

Your first stop is the Geysir geothermal area, which boasts spouting springs, winds around the various geysers and bubbling pools of mud.

Nearby is the “Queen of Waterfalls,” Gullfoss. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to stand next to the amazing waterfall, watching enormous quantities of water tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge. There are several viewing areas that show you different angles of this impressive waterfall. It is thanks to a local farm woman, Sigríður Tómasardóttir, that people can enjoy Gullfoss. In the early 20th century, Sigríður led political effort to designate the waterfall as a protected nature area.

The final stop of the tour is the heart and soul of Icelandic culture: Þingvellir National Park. Þingvellir was the site of the Althing, the Viking-age parliament that eventually made Iceland the world’s oldest ongoing parliament. Þingvellir is also where the North American and European tectonic plates meet, and you can walk through a canyon where these continents are slowly moving away from each other.

Next, take an unguided bus transfer to the Sky Lagoon, an enchanting hot spring pool on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The Sky Lagoon combines traditional Icelandic architecture with modern spa facilities. Relax in the rejuvenating waters that overlook vast views of the ocean and the area mountains. Your pass also includes Skjól, a seven-step experience that combines water, steam, mist, and a special body scrub for a relaxed and rejuvenated body.

Overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 3: South Coast Adventure and Glacier Hike

Breakfast at your hotel. Take a guided tour through the beautiful landscapes of Iceland’s south coast, enjoying the view of peaceful farms, many with horses grazing in the fields. If the sky is clear, you can view two famous volcanoes: Hekla (last eruption: 2000) and Eyjafjallajökull (last eruption: 2010). You might even glimpse the Westman Islands far off on the sea.

Stop at Skógafoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic cascades. (Make sure you have your camera ready for a selfie!) Perhaps you might even catch of glimpse of the legendary Viking treasure said to be buried in the falls.

Travel east to Sólheimajökull, a glacier extending out from the larger Mýrdalsjökull. Here you’ll put on crampons, grab an ice axe, and join in on a glacier walk. Your glacier guide will lead you up onto the surface of the glacier for a one-hour walk in spellbinding icy landscapes. Enjoy views of jagged peaks, cool blue ice and wide- open sky: a real treat for photographers! You’ll also learn about glaciers: how they are formed and why they are so important to our planet.

After the invigorating ice walk, you’ll visit beautiful Seljalandsfoss. This ribbon-like waterfall offers the rare opportunity to walk behind the curtain of water (subject to trail conditions at the time of the trip).

Return to Reykjavík around 19:00 (7:00pm).

Overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 4: Departure

Breakfast at your hotel. If your flight is in the afternoon, use your last moments this morning enjoying the spa located right in your hotel or walk along the harbour seafront and breathe the fresh Atlantic breeze. Use your package's included one-way transfer to travel to the airport.
