Itinerary
Day 1: Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, you'll be greeted by our representative and transferred to the hotel. After check-in, you'll have some time to relax and unwind from your journey. In the evening, we'll gather for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant where you can taste traditional Iraqi cuisine and get to know your fellow travelers. You'll spend the night in Baghdad, ready to start your adventure the next day.
Day 2: Explore Baghdad After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we'll set out to explore the vibrant city of Baghdad. Our guided tour will take us to the National Museum of Iraq, home to a vast collection of artifacts from the ancient Mesopotamian civilization. Next, we'll stroll along Al-Mutanabbi Street, famous for its book market and rich literary heritage. We'll then visit the Al-Shaheed Monument, an impressive tribute to fallen Iraqi soldiers, and have lunch in a traditional restaurant. In the afternoon, we'll visit the historic Al-Mustansiriya School, one of the oldest Islamic universities. The evening will be free for you to explore the city on your own or relax at the hotel. Day 3: Day Trip to Babil After breakfast, we'll embark on a day trip to Babil, the site of ancient Babylon. Our journey will take us through the Iraqi countryside to this legendary city, where we'll explore the remnants of its glorious past. Highlights include the Ishtar Gate, a beautifully reconstructed entrance to the city, and the ruins of King Nebuchadnezzar’s Palace. We'll also visit the Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. After a local lunch, we'll return to Baghdad in the evening. The rest of the night is at your leisure, and you'll stay overnight in Baghdad.
Day 4: Baghdad to Ahwar (Marshes) After breakfast, we will travel to the Ahwar region, also known as the Iraqi Marshlands. Upon arrival, we'll check into a local eco-lodge designed to offer comfort while blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Our exploration of the Marshlands begins with a boat ride through the winding waterways, providing a close look at the unique ecosystem. We'll visit a traditional Marsh Arab village to learn about the lifestyle and traditions of the local inhabitants. Then we will enjoy a lunch of local specialties and continue our exploration of the area in the afternoon. Dinner will be served at the eco-lodge, where you'll spend the night surrounded by the tranquility of the marshes.
Day 5: Explore Ahwar and Return to Baghdad After breakfast at the eco-lodge, we'll continue our exploration of the Ahwar region. You'll gain deeper insights into the ecology of the marshes and the ongoing efforts to preserve this vital habitat. Interactions with the local community will offer a personal perspective on the challenges and benefits of living in the marshes. After a traditional lunch at the eco-lodge, we'll journey back to Baghdad. In the evening, we'll enjoy a farewell dinner, celebrating the experiences and memories made during the trip. You'll stay overnight in Baghdad.
Day 6: Departure On the last day, enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then check out. Our representative will assist you with your transfer to Baghdad International Airport for your departure, ensuring a smooth end to your journey. We hope you leave with unforgettable memories of your time in Iraq, enriched by its history, culture, and natural beauty.
