11 Nights / 12 Days Trip: Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Khajuraho - Varanasi – Kathmandu

We invite you to be a part of a travelling tradition that dates back 5000 years. You will experience the most exhilarating culture of North India & Nepal and marvel at some of the UNESCO listed world heritage sites. The trip includes the most sort after sector of North India i.e., the Golden Triangle along with Khajuraho & Varanasi. The program will culminate in Kathmandu, Nepal, which is presided over by snow-covered mountains, reflecting a great wealth of culture and tradition.

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrive at Delhi

Arrive in Delhi. On arrival, you will be greeted and assisted by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Rooms will be available from 1400 Hrs.

Delhi has been the seat of power for several rulers and many empires for about a millennium. Many times the city was built, destroyed and then rebuilt here. Interestingly, a number of Delhi's rulers played a dual role, first as destroyers and then as creators.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast, enjoy an interesting walk through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi. Later Raj Ghat –Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial. In the afternoon, explore New Delhi. You will drive past President’s Palace and India Gate (42m high), built to commemorate the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in the 1st world war. Later afternoon visit Humayun’s Tomb.

Day 3: Delhi / Jaipur

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur.

Maharaja Jai Singh II built Jaipur in the 18th century. It is a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules as the colonial capital of a richly colourful state of Rajasthan. On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

In the evening, attend the Aarti ceremony at a Temple.

Day 4: Jaipur

After breakfast, half-day excursion trip takes you to Amber Fort. En route, make a photo stop at the palace of winds, the Hawa Mahal. A 5 storied building with a 25cm thick facade from the 18th century having 953 windows. In the afternoon, visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar (1728-34) by king astrologer Jai Singh II. The instruments are built of stone with marble facing on the important plains for measuring the harmony of the heavens.

Evening is reserved for an exclusive cooking demonstration followed by dinner with a local family.

Day 5: Jaipur / Agra

After breakfast, drive to Agra. On arrival, transfer to the hotel

Later visit Agra Fort (Fort and Palace) situated on the West Bank of the river Jamuna. At sunset visit Taj Mahal (1631-1653), a poem in white marble, built by Shah Jahan.

IMP: TAJ MAHAL REMAINS CLOSED ON FRIDAY.

 

Day 6: Agra / Khajuraho (By Train) (22470- Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express – 0740 / 1420 – The Train runs every day except Monday)

After an early breakfast, transfer to the railway station to board the train to Khajuraho. On arrival in Khajuraho transfer to the hotel. Khajuraho is home to the UNESCO listed and famous erotic temples built in the 10th & 11th century by the Chandella Rulers.

Day 7: Khajuraho / Varanasi (By Flight)

In the morning, visit Eastern Group of temples mainly dedicated to the Jain teachers - Tirthankaras - The Parsvanatha Temple, the Adinatha Temple, and the Santinatha Temple. Also, visit the Western Group of temples, which consist of a group of artistic temples built in sandstone.

In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to board flight to Varanasi. On arrival check in at the hotel

Day 8: Varanasi

Leave early morning to experience the life of this ancient city. See the beauty of the rising sun with a Boat Ride (subject to the level of water) on Ganges River. Experience the early morning rituals of the Hindus being performed, thousands of people taking a bath in the holy river.

Later enjoy a short orientation walk through the narrow by lanes of Varanasi, experiencing local life

Passing by numerous temples followed by a late breakfast at the hotel

In the afternoon drive out for an excursion trip to Sarnath, the auspicious place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon in the deer park after attaining enlightenment at Bodhgaya.

Day 9: Varanasi / Kathmandu (By Flight)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board flight to Kathmandu. On arrival check in at the hotel

Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Evening is reserved for a dinner with a cultural show at a local restaurant in Kathmandu.

Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 10: Kathmandu

After breakfast visit Kathmandu city, a city that looks like a living museum. Visit the Durbar Square, the Temple of the Living Goddess, the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, and Shiva-Parvati Temple, a three-story temple famous for its erotic stone carvings.

Later visit Swayambhunath – A Buddist stupa that is said to be 2000 years old. Evening is reserved for a visit to the revered Pashupatinath temple

Day 11: Kathmandu

Visit the second Sister City of the capital, Bhadgaon (Bhaktapur), which means “the City of Devotees”. Visit Durbar Square with King Palace, the 5- story Nyatopala-Temple, the highest and probably the finest temple in Kathmandu Valley.

In the afternoon, visit the ancient town of Patan, also known as Lalitpur (City of Beauty and Fine Art).

Dinner & Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 12: Kathmandu Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board the flight back home (Room available till 12:00 hrs noontime.)
