Are you ready to be blown away by the Italian finest cuisine? After exploring the beautiful city of Bologna with its huge Piazza Maggiore and the Fountain of Neptune you will take part in an original Italian cooking class and learn from the professional chefs how to make the most iconic Italian food like Tortellini and Tagliatelle yourself. Enjoy a guided tour of a winery in the countryside followed by a exquisit wine tasting.

DAY 01:

Arrival in Bologna and transfer to 4* Hotel.

Lunch in a typical restaurant in the historical centre to taste the savoury flavours of this region.

In the afternoon guided tour of the most important monuments of the city. From the huge Piazza Maggiore, the core of Bologna, you can let yourself be seduced by some of the buildings that overlook the square: Palazzo D’Accursio (headquarter of the Town Hall) and the Basilica of San Petronio, housing the largest sundial in the world (67 meters). Around the corner, you can admire the Fountain of Neptune, one of the symbols of the city. In front of it, you will find Palazzo Re Enzo that conceals the Voltone del Podestà, which represents one of the so called “7 secrets of Bologna”.

DAY 02:

Breakfast at the Hotel.

In the morning you will then be picked up and you will join the cooking class with professional chef to learn how to prepare the most traditional Bolognese Pasta: Tortellini, Tortelloni and Tagliatelle with three different and tasty sauces. Lunch included.

In the afternoon, guided tour of a winery in the countryside of Bologna. Immersed in a wonderful natural setting, you will experience a wine tasting, with a taste of a typical product of this region.

Dinner. Overnight stay in Hotel in Bologna.

 

DAY 03:

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Guided tour of a dairy farm near Reggio Emilia belonging to the “Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortium”. We will have the opportunity to closely observe the stages of Parmigiano Reggiano’s production and to taste some of the local excellences.

Light lunch in the dairy farm.

After lunch, guided tour of Torrechiara Castle: built in the middle of 15th century and one of the most important examples of castle architecture in Italy, it stands on the first hills of Parma, overlooking the nearby fields.

After visiting the castle, we will discover the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. Led by expert guides, you will enjoy a sampling tour to learn about the secrets and the production techniques.

DAY 04:


Breakfast at the Hotel.

Guided tour of the Castle of Dozza, a medieval village, nominated as one of the “Most beautiful villages in Italy” thanks also to its painted walls, which are the result of the international festival that takes place every two years. What was once the dungeon of the Rocca, is now the Regional Wine Cellar (Enoteca Regionale). Here you will find more than 800 selected wines from the Emilia Romagna Region to taste and purchase.

Lunch in a typical restaurant.

Transfer to Brisighella, where we will begin our guided tour discovering this village lost in a natural
and still untouched scenery.
Oil tasting: different types of olive oil, served with some traditional cheeses, jam, honey and wines
of this territory. Between October/November it is also possible to see an olive-press working.
Short walk through the streets of the Medieval Centre.

Transfer to Florence.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Florence.

 

DAY 05:

Breakfast at the Hotel.

In the morning, you could have the chance to visit San Lorenzo Market and the Mercato Centrale.

Florence leather market is known all over the world, as well as its artisan workshops, which create and produce high quality products, such as bags, jackets, shoes and many other accessories.

The Central Market, on the other hand, attracts visitors but also locals: here you can taste many different foods including bread, pastries, meats, sausages, cheeses, fresh pastas, wines and the famous “Lampredotto” the typical Florentine street food.

After lunch, guided tour of Florence’s most important attractions, beginning with Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, with its bell tower, the extraordinary dome (the biggest brick-work dome ever built in the whole world) and the spectacular polychrome marble panels of the façade.

We continue our tour down to Piazza della Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio, the town-hall of Florence, crossing then the Arno river on Ponte Vecchio, the characteristic medieval bridge with jewelry and art shops built along it.

Transfer to Siena.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Siena.

 

DAY 06:

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Guided tour of Siena, whose historic centre has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site and famous for the Palio, a horse race held twice a year.

Lunch in a typical restaurant to taste regional dishes such as the “panzanella”, the famous pasta “pici” and the tomato soup, with a good glass of Chianti.

In the afternoon, transfer to Rome passing through Montepulciano region, where the famous Montepulciano wine comes from.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel in Rome.

 


DAY 07:

Italian style breakfast with croissant and cappuccino in one of the bars overlooking the Baroque square Piazza Navona. Walking in front of the Pantheon, one of the best preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, we will Via del Corso to discover along the way two famous and extraordinary sites: The Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna. The Trevi Fountain, caught on film by the well-known filmmaker Federico Fellini in “La Dolce Vita”, is the largest Baroque fountain in the city. Piazza di Spagna is, on the other hand, located in one of the most elegant and exclusive areas in the historic centre.

Lunch in a typical restaurant or will try the best and most fresh pizza’s in the town.

After lunch, we start our guided tour from the Colosseum, the Amphitheatrum Flavium, the largest ever built and symbol of Rome. Walking down the Via dei Fori Imperiali, we find the Roman Forum, the core of financial, political and religious life in Rome, with its outstanding ruins of important ancient buildings. During the tour you will have chance to taste a wonderful artisanal Gelato, made with the freshest ingredients, in the most charming area of Rome.
In the afternoon, we could bring you also to the one of the best delicacy shop in Rome where you can enjoy some of the finest Italian cheeses, paired with excellent wines.

DAY08:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Check-out and transfer to the airport or train station.
