Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Jambo! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens nestled in a serene garden setting. Spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere and facilities of the hotel. Overnight at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for a scenic flight to Maasai Mara departing at 10:30 hours. Upon arrival at the Ol Kiombo airstrip at approximately 11:10 hours, meet your driver guide who will transfer you to the camp for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, you can choose from the eco-friendly activities available at the camp listed below. Alternatively, you can opt to enjoy an afternoon game drive at the reserve. You can opt to engage in the following activities:
• Eco Tour: Take a behind-the-scenes tour to learn about running a safari lodge sustainably (30 - 60 minutes).
• Farm Visit: Join the Emboo River chefs to select veggies from the hydroponic garden and help create a delicious salad (45 minutes).
• Nature Walk: Explore the Maasai Mara on foot and gain a different perspective of its unique ecosystem (60 minutes).
• Game Time: Participate in board games, pétanque, and kubbs to unwind and have fun.
• Maasai Warrior Training: Engage in Maasai warrior activities such as rungu throwing and learning bow and arrow skills (60 minutes).
Dinner and overnight stay at Emboo River Camp on an all-inclusive basis.

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Wildlife Safari and Cultural Exploration
Start the day with an early morning game drive, exploring the diverse wildlife of Maasai Mara. Encounter the Big Five and other animals in their natural habitat. Later return to the camp for lunch and visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture and conservation efforts. Participate in a community project or cultural activity. Return to the camp for dinner. Enjoy an evening of storytelling around the campfire, learning about Maasai traditions and legends. Dinner and overnight stay at Emboo River Camp on an all-inclusive basis.

Day 4: Maasai Mara - Wildlife Exploration
Start the day with another early morning game drive with a picnic breakfast to further explore the diverse wildlife of Maasai Mara. Later, return to the camp for lunch and spend the afternoon on a guided walking safari or bird watching. Dinner and overnight stay at Emboo River Camp on an all-inclusive basis.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out and be transferred to Ol Kiombo airstrip for your onward flight to Nairobi, departing at 11:00 hours. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport at approximately 13:00 hours, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight back.
