Day 2 - 2024: Lima
Private | Half Day bohemian and artistic Barranco walking. English speaking Guide.
A journey full of art, culture, and flavor awaits us in Lima's bohemian neighborhood par excellence: Barranco. We will explore its streets that still keep their colonial and republican legacy as the Saenz Peña Boulevard, which stands out for its old houses influenced by the Gothic style. The deeper we go into Barranco, the more we will be surprised by its picturesque houses, many of them converted into workshops or museums, as is the case of Jade Rivera and Victor Delfin. We will enter both to learn a little more about the artists' work and see unique pieces. Barranco is characterized by the energy breathed into its beautiful boardwalk, with an extraordinary view of the Pacific Ocean. Following it, we will arrive at the Bridge of Sighs or 'Puente de los Suspiros', one of the most important attractions of the district, inspiring unique legends and motivating songs and poems. The renowned interpreter Chabuca Grande dedicated one of her most popular songs to it, and we will see a sculpture in her honor. As we walk towards the district's main square, we will see dozens of colorful murals with which we can take pictures. The flavor touch awaits at El Cacaotal, a favorite place for chocolate and coffee lovers, where we can taste a drink and learn more about the high quality of Peruvian coffee and cocoa. For the shopping fanatics, we will take a look at some Peruvian art and handicraft stores to take a souvenir home before ending our adventure in Barranco.

11h00 Private | Half Day Market Tour and Cooking Class - Lunch included. English-speaking guide.
This experience will connect us with one of the pillars and greatest pride of Peruvian culture: its gastronomy. The tour will open our eyes to the extensive and rich variety of ingredients that grow in the highlands of Cusco, which are the basis of its traditional cuisine and with which we will learn to prepare delicious dishes. We will start with a tour of the San Pedro market, the oldest in the city, located in the heart of Cusco. Designed in 1925 by the French architect Gustave Eiffel, today it brings together hundreds of merchants selling fruits, vegetables, traditional breads from the area, as well as businesses that offer breakfasts and other meals. There we can learn about Cusco's flagship products, such as quinoa, yellow chili and an incredible variety of native potatoes. Then, we will have a cooking class with the best view of the city from a terrace. An experienced chef will teach how to prepare an an appetizer, a main dish, and a cocktail with the ingredients that we saw in the market – a full menu with a gourmet touch that we will taste at the end.
14h00 Private | Half Day City tour Cusco. English-speaking guide.
This charming half-day tour of Cusco offers us history, culture, art and finishes off with a spectacular view. With our guide we will be able to appreciate how Andean and Spanish culture coexist in the Imperial City. We will visit Koricancha, which during the Inca empire was a center of worship of the Sun, on which the Santo Domingo convent was later built as part of the evangelization process. Its baroque style façade built on solid Inca walls perfectly summarizes the mix of traditions that is Cusco today. On a tour of the Main Square, we will be able to appreciate the main buildings and its colonial architecture that remains intact. From there we will visit the Cathedral, its most important temple, built over Inca Huiracocha’s palace. Its interior houses a wonderful collection of colonial art composed of goldsmith pieces and representative canvases of the Cusco School. Then, we will ascend to the monumental fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which with its enormous carved stone walls constitutes one of the best examples of Inca military architecture. We will end the tour with a flourish, enjoying a delicious drink accompanied by one of the best views of the Imperial City.

Day 9 - 2024: Cusco
This is the experience that we all hope to have in a place as mystical and magical as Cusco! We will get lost in a forest to connect with nature and participate in a ceremony of offering to the land, an ancestral ritual that has survived the passing of the years. The ancient Peruvians of the Andes were governed by the concept of reciprocity and applied it in their religious belief system. Thus, offering gifts to the land was a way of thanking the gods, especially Pachamama (Mother Earth), for the blessings they received. The ideal setting to perform this ritual will be the Llaullipata National Park. With its pure air and surroundings in all its natural splendor, it will provide us with the calm to be able to get spiritually involved with the ceremony. Thus, we will offer coca leaves, Andean grains, and chicha, among other details. At the end of the ritual and in absolute peace with nature, we can enjoy a traditional cherry punch and chuta bread, very typical of Cusco.
