Day 1:
Check in at the 5 star Zest Boutique Hotel less than 4 minutes drive from the V&A Waterfront. Evening at leisure
Day 2:
You will be collected from the hotel after an early breakfast and driven to the entrance of Cape Point Nature Reserve with the e-Bikes in tow. Here we fit your helmet, set saddle height and familiarise you with the e-Bike operation. After
a practice session we go on the relatively quiet National Park paved roads to enjoy the floral kingdom of the famous “fynbos” and along the coastal road with waves
breaking nearby. Apart from the flora you will probably encounter wild game
like zebra, ostriches, baboons, bontebok and eland. Later we take you in a funicular up to the historic Cape Point Lighthouse, the most south westerly point of Africa that rises up 240 m above the surrounding Park and sea. We leave the e-Bikes and travel back to your hotel along spectacular Chapmans Peak Drive with its cliff-hugging roads above the Atlantic. We stop for lunch at the charming fishing village of Hout Bay.
Evening at leisure
Day 3:
With your new skills, after breakfast it’s time to go through the impressive Southern Suburbs of Cape Town to drive up to the top of the back of Table Mountain National Park at Silvermine. Your e-Bike will be ready and charged. We take you on the Park’s Panorama route and because you are on an e-Bike you experience more. You are on top of the Cape Peninsula. You will travel through fields of the famous “fynbos” and proteas. You will go to viewpoints overlooking Hout Bay on the Atlantic seaboard and back across the Peninsula to overlook False Bay on the other
side. The views are spectacular. Then we go back to our vehicle returning to your hotel stopping for lunch at the busy working harbour of Kalk Bay. The extraordinary restaurant is built on the harbour pier, with waves breaking next to you only metres away
Evening at leisure.
Day 4:
There are some sites in Cape Town that should be seen but are not accessible on an e-Bike. So today is a break from e-Bikes. Today the group can choose two of the
following attractions: Table Mountain overlooking the city by cable car, a boat trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated, Kirstenbosch National
Botanical Gardens or The Two Oceans Aquarium. Transfers and entrance fees are covered.
Evening at leisure
Day 5:
Before breakfast we pack our bags ready for our move to Franschhoek 75 km away. Today our e-bikes are with us as we head for Melkbosstrand. We go along a cycle track towards Table Mountain. This is the classic view over Table Bay of Robben Island and the Mountain, the first sight of Africa seafarers saw as they approached the Cape. Here the wind is often up and kite surfers play as you take a gentle e-Bike ride down to Bloubergstrand stopping for coffee along the way.
We then head for Stellenbosch for lunch and browsing. Known for its natural beauty and oak lined avenues, Cape Dutch architecture and history, the university town also has a youthful vibe. Finally we drive on to the 4 Star La Fontaine Boutique Hotel in the heart of the Winelands in historic Franschhoek (or equivalent).
Evening is at leisure. You are now in the culinary capital, within walking distance of some of the world’s greatest restaurants, make the most of it on your last evening by getting the hotel to help select something special.
Evening at leisure.
Day 6:
The winelands of the Cape are set apart from others in the world by the dramatic mountain scenery and historic homesteads – apart from the pleasing quality of the wine which they have been making since 1659. One such estate is Boschendal in Franschhoek. With a history going back to 1685, today the famous estate is one of the biggest and you will be allowed to explore the working farm e-Biking on
its private cycle trails led by our guide. A visit would not be complete without visiting some more beautiful wine estates to taste their wines. So heading back to Franschoek town we board the Wine Tram and head off for lunch, wine tasting at three estates before we return to our hotel. Tour ends at about 4 pm. Collect your luggage and get your transfere to the airport or another point in Cape Town.
What is included:
e-Bike, guide, support vehicle, helmets, wet weather gear, transfers to and from the airport, transfers each day to the venues and back to the hotel, park and attraction entrance fees, accommodation in a 4 or 5 star hotel, breakfast and two course lunch with a glass of wine
