Whether you love culture, monuments, history, nature, Spanish gastronomy or going out, Madrid has it all. Madrid is a vibrant city full of energy. After London and Berlin, Spain’s capital is the biggest city in Europe. Madrid is located in the center of Spain, at a height of approximately 650 meters above sea level. To the north, Madrid is shielded by the Sierra de Guadarrama, which makes Madrid one of the capitals in the world with the most number of sunny days, approximately 200 per year. Madrid combines big avenues with small historical streets and beautiful parks. Madrid is best absorbed without extraordinary effort. Sit yourself down at a tapas bar, stroll through tangles of little streets and breathe in the cosmopolitan, sophisticated, relaxed vibe.
DAY01:
After you have arrived at Madrid Airport an English speaking guide will wait for you to bring you with your transfer to the selected hotel. In the hotel you will check-in to your room.
The gastronomy in Madrid is one of the highlights of the city, so we will reserve and/or recommend some restaurants walking distance from your hotel. ¡Buen provecho!
DAY02: Exploring Madrid
Buffet breakfast and accommodation at hotel. After breakfast you make your way on a half day sightseeing tour through Madrid with an English speaking guide, who will be there to tell you all you have to know about Madrid and its marvolleous sights. The tour will make convenient stops for walking and taking pictures at Plaza Mayor, Parque del Retiro and Las Ventas Bullring, if the weather permits and always accompanied by our guide. After the tour you will have lunch in an authentic Madrid restaurant. After lunch you have free time to explore the city on your own, go shopping or stroll around the city´s beautiful districts. In the evening we will choose a dinner for you in a restaurant walking distance to you’re your hotel.
DAY03:: Excursion to Toledo
Buffet breakfast and accommodation at hotel. Programme of the day: excursion to Toledo with an English speaking tour guide and bus. Discover the “City of the Three Cultures”! Located 70 km away from Madrid is Toledo, a beautiful city-museum declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe and has a great artistic beauty and buildings from almost all periods in history (Arabian, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque style). Toledo is called the “City of the Three Cultures”, since Christians, Muslims and Jews lived together. In the XVI century, it was also the place of residence of the great painter El Greco. (Lunch in chosen restaurant in Toledo) Transfer back to Madrid with dinner in hotel or chosen restaurant.
DAY04: Excursion to Segovia and Pedraza
Whole day excursion to Segovia & Pedraza with an English speaking tour guide and bus. Enjoy a very entertaining day visiting Pedraza and Segovia, two cities rich in history.
The first stop in our tour will be in the medieval town of PEDRAZA which is a municipality located in the province of Segovia, located 37 km northeast of Segovia capital and an hour from Madrid. With a stroll through its cobbled streets and emblazoned houses we transport you to the medieval period.
Before leaving this beautiful city, take a glass of local wine and tapas in one of its typical restaurants. Afterwards, we will go to SEGOVIA, famous for its well-preserved roman aqueduct, which is 16 km long. Home of some of the kings of Castile, this city preserves one of the most important medieval group of buildings in Spain. Due to its elegance, the Cathedral is considered to be “the Lady of the Cathedrals”, and the Alcázar is the most spectacular castle in the country. (Lunch at chosen restaurant in Segovia). Transfer back to Madrid and dinner at hotel or restaurant close to the hotel.
DAY05:
As per your flight scheduled departure, transfer from hotel to the Airport.Have a pleasant and safe return home!
